We set about planning our day and knew instantly that although we wanted it to be stylish, above all we wanted it to be very personal. We fell in love with the Etrop Grange Hotel in Manchester; a warm and welcoming Georgian building, grand enough for a white wedding but small enough to feel as though you are celebrating in a beautiful home rather than a hotel. We reminisced about the first holiday we had been on just three months after meeting and I suggested we should base our invitations around all the places we had travelled together. I set about creating our invitations and soon indulged in the romance of designing and hand finishing every aspect of our stationery, wanting to ensure that our whole day felt incredibly personal and unique. It is this philosophy and desire that is at the heart of Love Story Stationery. Tiny black and white photos show the holidays we had spent together and on the front, a photograph of the night we first met, finishing off the romantic feel perfectly. The Black Tie range is our stationery, the design that first started our company! I opted for a backless evening gown style dress and the adult bridesmaids wore sexy black cocktail dresses. With Dan in a sharp Saville Row black suite, the whole day felt glamorous but relaxed. We filled the rooms with ivory roses to reflect my long stemmed, hand tied bouquet and scattered the hotel with candles. For the table plan, I slotted small black and white envelopes into two large eucalyptus wreaths which we hung in the entrance to our reception room - the gorgeous fresh smell still reminds me of our wedding day! Each envelope contained the table details and a hand written message to each of our guests. The free standing table names used the photographs from the invitation itself, tying the whole theme together. The following day, as we waited for our taxi to come and take us to the airport, we sat reading through the guest book. One message read, "Thank you for a wonderful day, we will remember it for the beauty and simplicity of it". We both felt this summed up what we had wanted to achieve all along. It really was a perfect day.
